Dowitcher Press is located in Santa Barbara, California and arises out of editor Amber Wallace’s love for poetry and desire to begin a small press in the Santa Barbara area, and as an extension and evolution of Dowitcher Designs, a design shop established by partners Jill Kingdon and Amber Wallace. Dowitcher Designs provides strategy, web and graphic design, programming, marketing and search engine optimization while Dowitcher Press prints and releases selected titles.
Amber Wallace has a degree in Creative Studies and a background in written and visual communications. She works with clients on strategic web planning and development to create an effective, on-brand web presence and complimentary marketing materials. She is co-editor of AfroGEEKS: Beyond the Digital Divide and is the PR and Marketing Chair of the National Association of Women Business Owners, Santa Barbara. She also serves as the head of Social Media and Web Marketing for the Santa Barbara Women’s Festivals, is on the Advisory Board for Santa Barbara City College’s Media Arts and Technology (MAT) program, is on the Executive Committee for the Santa Barbara Equality Project, and teaches Web Marketing Applications and Search Engine Marketing through UCSB Extension.
